輪狀病毒發威幼兒慎防急性腸胃炎

時序進入秋天，最近學童嬰幼兒出現嘔吐、腹瀉症狀求診人數大增。醫師指出，求診病童幾乎都是急性腸胃炎，確定是輪狀病毒所感染。由於輪狀病毒沒有特效藥可醫治，只能依靠水分和電解質補充，醫師也建議除了接種疫苗之外，家長在照顧孩童一定要勤洗手。（彭清仁報導）

台大醫院新竹分院小兒部洪瑋勵醫師表示，嬰幼兒急性腸胃炎最常見的原因就是輪狀病毒感染。時序進入秋冬季節，門診與急診逐漸出現這類因為不停嘔吐，無法正常進食而前來求助的小病患。根據衛福部疾管署的病毒性腸胃炎資料，幾乎每一個已開發國家五歲以下的兒童，都曾感染過輪狀病毒。輪狀病毒是經由糞口路徑所傳播的，藉由接觸到病童的手、或是病童接觸過的物體表面來傳染，而且有可能是經由呼吸路徑傳染。

輪狀病毒症狀，一開始多半出現發燒、嘔吐等症狀，兩到三天後轉為拉肚子水瀉，稀水便可能長達五天，甚至三週。對大部分的病患來說，通常可以完全恢復。但對嬰幼兒來說，腹瀉所引發的體液流失可能導致脫水及電解質不平衡，進而抽搐，甚至死亡。最嚴重的症狀常會發生在出生六個月到兩歲的小孩，以及有免疫缺陷的小孩。目前輪狀病毒並無特效藥可醫治，只能依靠水分和電解質來補充。預防方式除了接種疫苗之外，家長在照顧上要注意，只要有接觸嬰幼兒，一定要勤洗手。
